PLC Splitter & ODF Installation-Point BOM RFQ Guide

A PLC splitter supplier can quote more accurately when a buyer shows where each splitter belongs in the passive network. This guide turns an FTTH project list into installation-point BOM lines that connect split ratio and package choice with ODF panels, terminal boxes, pigtails, adapters and the relevant cable path.

Start With the Installation Point, Not Only the Split Ratio

PLC splitter supplier is a high-intent search, but “1x16 splitter” alone is not a complete buying instruction. A splitter at an ODF, distribution cabinet, terminal box or closure can be reviewed with different connected hardware and cable-routing information. Naming the installation point keeps mechanical format, interfaces and accessory lines visible in the same RFQ.

Build an Installation-Point BOM

Location / roleState the intended ODF, cabinet, terminal box, closure, distribution point or other project location. Use a drawing reference if one exists.
Splitter lineList split ratio, package format, connector and polish requirement, lead or pigtail requirement, and quantity as one configuration.
ODF or panel relationshipIdentify whether the line connects to an ODF, patch panel, cassette or adapter panel; document the interface rather than assuming compatibility.
Pigtails and adaptersKeep connector, polish, fiber type, identification requirement and quantity traceable to the relevant location.
Revision controlGive each BOM or drawing a revision date or reference so the supplier quotes the current configuration.

Common RFQ Errors That Slow a PLC Splitter Quote

  • Only naming the ratio: record package and installation point in addition to 1xN or 2xN notation.
  • Merging unlike configurations: separate different connector, package, lead or location requirements into distinct BOM lines.
  • Leaving interfaces implied: name the connector and polish, and refer to the relevant panel, terminal or pigtail line.
  • Sending an unversioned drawing: label the current BOM or drawing revision and flag pending items.
