Start With the Actual Interface
“Fast connector” is not enough for an RFQ. Start with the required connector interface or project model, then pair it with the cable match and fiber type in the project documentation. If the project requires a drawing, approved material list or existing part reference, attach it rather than inferring a substitute.
Four Questions Before Quotation
- What is the application? Identify new FTTH build, repair, restoration, MDU, terminal connection or another field-installation use.
- What must connect? State the connector interface, fiber type, drop-cable construction or size, and any existing terminal, adapter or distribution-hardware relationship.
- What belongs in the installation BOM? List fast connectors, splice sleeves, clamps, hooks, adapters, terminal hardware and tools as separate line items where applicable.
- How will the material be issued? Specify bulk line items or installation kits, quantity by item, labeling, packing and destination country.
Common Comparison Terms—Use Carefully
Public supplier resources may describe field-installable connectors as pre-polished, mechanical-splice or splice-on. These descriptions can help a buyer ask the right questions, but they do not prove two supplier products share the same installation method, dimensions, performance or compatibility. Confirm the exact project requirement before approving an alternative.
