An ODF or patch-panel request is more comparable when it explains where hardware will be installed and what must connect through it. Telecom rooms, FTTH distribution points and data-center racks may need different mounting formats, access directions and cable-management details.
Core ODF and Patch Panel BOM Fields
- Application: telecom room, FTTH/ODN distribution, equipment room or data-center cabling.
- Mounting format: rack mount, wall mount, cabinet or project-defined frame; include available rack space where known.
- Capacity: required port count, planned fiber terminations and quantity by panel type.
- Interface: adapter type and polish requirement, plus MPO module-box or cassette interface where applicable.
- Splicing: splice-tray requirement, pigtail connector type, fiber type and labeling notes.
- Routing: cable entry direction, slack storage, accessories and grounding notes when specified by the project.
