The CRTC’s fourth Broadband Fund call is open until August 13, 2026. Its stated objective is to improve access to reliable high-speed Internet in underserved areas, and it identifies fixed-broadband and satellite-dependent community project categories. Treat this as planning context, not evidence that a particular build, design or supplier has been selected.
The CRTC says that, through earlier Broadband Fund activity, approximately C$769 million had been allocated to projects serving more than 54,000 homes in over 320 communities and supporting nearly 6,000 kilometres of fibre. On July 24, the Canada Infrastructure Bank announced a rural Saskatchewan project involving RFNow and partners, with 2,774 kilometres of fibreoptic cable planned to reach 7,350 underserved households.
